Identify roads not included as part of the City’s Five Year Paving Plan for top consideration of re-pavement when funding is available.

19th Avenue

The 19th Avenue Pavement Rehabilitation Project will begin in the summer of 2018, shortly after the City completes the 19th Avenue Combined City Project. Caltrans will repave the entirety of State Route 1 within San Francisco. The project will also include the upgrade of existing curbs and ramps at intersections and crosswalks with pedestrian facilities to meet Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards.

Sloat Boulevard

The repaving of Sloat Boulevard from 19th Avenue to Skyline Boulevard will be a huge improvement for all users of the corridor, and will make crossing the street much safer for pedestrians. In addition to resurfacing, Sloat will also receive curb ramp upgrades to meet Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards. The project was delayed and will be completed by the end of 2016. Our office continues to ask for updates to ensure the project is completed as soon as possible.

Our office also committed to advocating for the repaving of four other roadways:

  • Sunset Boulevard: Sunset Boulevard was slated for repaving in 2018.  Our office, working closely with SF Public Works helped prioritize and assisted in advancing this roadway for repaving in 2017.  Repaving major roadways takes time given that SF Public Works must coordinate and seek clearances from other agencies and utilities.

  • Lower Great Highway: Micro-surfacing complete 2015

  • Taraval Street: Taraval will be resurfaced as part of the Muni Forward initiative improvements and will be complete by 2020.

  • Judah Street: Judah will be resurfaced as part of the Muni Forward initiative improvements and will be complete by 2020.
