Work with the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency to develop taxi stands along commercial corridors. 

 

After further exploration with the SFMTA, we learned that installation of taxi stands may not necessarily improve taxi service for west side residents. Due to smart phone technology, most users can hail a ride from any location, thus making taxi stands nearly obsolete.

 

Moving forward, SFMTA Taxi Services will develop a plan with a timeline in conjunction with the Taxi Task Force to improve taxi service to the outlying neighborhoods, including the west side. This item was included on the July 8, 2015 Taxi Task Force Agenda. SFMTA will report back to our office after that meeting, and provide a more definitive timeline afterwards.
