Work with Taraval Police Station to enforce speed limits around schools during drop-off and pick-up hours. 

 

During the most recent budget process for FY 2015-2016 and FY2016-2017, our office made it a priority to ensure that School Resource Officers (SRO) were assigned to our Sunset District schools. An SRO is a law enforcement officer assigned to public schools to create safer environments. Our office would like to explore the idea of expanding the SRO’s duties to include traffic enforcement around school areas.

 

We will also to continue to advocate for increased enforcement of the 15mph speed limit around all of our schools during school hours. Our office will work with the Taraval Police Station to organize a bi-annual enforcement campaign at the start of each school semester with an expected launch date of September 2015.
