Develop district-wide emergency communication plan that accommodates all communities, including seniors, disabled and non-English speaking individuals.

Our office is currently working with neighbors, the Neighborhood Empowerment Network (NEN), Department of Emergency Management (DEM), and Department of Public Health (DPH) to begin the process of developing a resiliency plan specific to the Sunset District, called Resilient Sunset. As of July 2015, we have held four meetings where community leaders received information about the district and its demographics, identified potential vulnerabilities within our community, and set up the framework for the work ahead. We anticipate launching a more community-involved effort in September 2015. The plan will include information on how to communicate and reach especially vulnerable communities during the event of an emergency.
