In partnership with SF Safety Awareness for Everyone (SF SAFE), encourage and facilitate the development of neighborhood watch groups and support existing ones.

SF SAFE is a non-profit organization that engages, educates and empowers San Franciscans to build safer neighborhoods through crime prevention, education and public safety services. One of their most impactful programs is managing the Neighborhood Watch Program for the City. Since we launched The Sunset District Blueprint in July 2014, two neighborhood watch groups were formed through SF SAFE. With these additions, the Sunset now has a total of 18 neighborhood watch groups. SF SAFE also launched a new website in June 2015, which includes a Block Captains Forum and map of existing neighborhood watch groups around the City. Our office will continue to work with existing neighborhood watch groups to ensure they are supported, their concerns are addressed, and they are connected with relevant City departments. We will also continue to connect concerned neighbors with each other and SF SAFE to facilitate the creation of more neighborhood watch groups.
