Encourage development of community garden spaces that are visible and accessible to the public.

Our office has encouraged the development of community garden spaces fully accessible to the public. We have been inspired by the neighbor-driven effort that led to development of the Far Out West Garden at Judah Street (between 43rd and 44th Ave). Leaders of the Far Out West Garden participated in our recent effort to create a more useful purpose for the Francis Scott Key Annex Yard (42nd Ave between Irving and Judah). After several community meetings, one of the most agreed upon recommendations was to install a community garden at the site. The project should be completed by Fall 2015.

Our office will continue to look for future opportunities to further develop community gardens in our district.
