Work with community members and merchants to participate in the City’s “Adopt-a-Street” program to promote shared and individual responsibility over street cleanliness.

Over the last several months, we have worked with SF Public Works to develop a clean-up campaign for Noriega Street, called Neat’n Noriega. We will be using an incentive-based program to encourage merchants to keep their storefronts and sidewalks clean by working together. As a pilot program, Neat’n Noriega will bring merchants together for a short period of time to address cleanliness issues, but it will also recognize merchants who work collaboratively and do an outstanding job at keeping their sidewalks and storefronts clean in an ongoing basis.

Additionally, SF Public Works, while conducting outreach on this opportunity, will notify merchants along Noriega of existing codes to educate business owners. We anticipate moving this program forward in Fall 2015. If successful, we will implement the program on other corridors in the future.
