Promote green building practices to help merchants save on energy and business costs. 

 

Recognizing that the Sunset District has a low participation rate in the City’s Green Business Program, our office met with the Department of Environment to discuss better outreach strategies for reaching businesses in District 4. The Green Business Program is a free service provided mostly to small and medium size businesses looking to conserve resources, save money, and promote the health/safety of their workers. Our office created an outreach plan identifying Irving Street with the highest density of businesses per city block out of our four commercial areas. We will partner with Department of the Environment to conduct outreach on this program, including merchant walks on Irving Street and other commercial corridors to ensure that merchants are aware of this program and can benefit from the program.
