Ensure full participation of District 4 residents in health care enrollment.

Since the Affordable Care Act took effect in January 2014, most Americans are required to have health insurance. Under the Affordable Care Act, more low-income residents in San Francisco will qualify for insurance through Medi-Cal, along with Healthy San Francisco, which is designed to make health care services available and affordable to uninsured San Francisco residents. Our office will continue to support the programs provided by the City to expand and increase enrollments in health care coverage. We will also support Human Services Agency in enrolling individuals into different affordable health coverage options by disseminating information using our monthly newsletter and social media. We will also work with senior centers, schools and youth centers on more innovative ways to disseminate health care information. Examples include inviting health care workers to senior centers to talk about health care options, disseminating information to youth by using video or other online tools.
